Disguise-a-trap™ Rat Catcher is just that. A rat trap that on first inspection looks nothing like a rat trap. When you purchase one of our Disguise-a-traps™ your purchase includes the steel live catch trap that sits inside it.
This rat catcher is perfect for use outside your property, particularly around the front where an ordinary trap would be seen by every Tom, Dick and Harry who would draw their own conclusions. Our Disguise-a-trap™ Rat Trap looks for all intent and purposes like a rustic wooden plant stand, no one will know the secret that it harbours. A Single Catch Live Rat Trap (included in your purchase) is simply placed inside the specially adapted plant stand which has a discreet entry hole for the rat to enter the baited trap.
How to Use
Place the Disguise-a-trap™ Rat Catcher where you know there to be rats. The
Luminous Dust Rat Tracking Kit can help here. Place the
Single Catch Live Rat Trap underneath with the door to the trap lined up with the entry point in the Disguise-a-trap™ stand. Then place plants on top as you see fit, trailing plants look ideal. It is recommended to leave the unset trap in place for at least 7 days, rats are wary creatures and need time to get used to new things. Place some bait around the trap and under the Disguise-a-trap™ without opening it for the first few days, the rats will feed and not fear the trap. Once they are feeding regularly, place some bait on the metal plate inside the trap which also acts as a trigger, and open the easy to set single door.
When the rat touches the trigger plate the door will shut behind it. On the top of the Disguise-a-trap™ is a small hole through which you can see if the door has shut, trapping a rat without the need to lift the whole Disguise-a-trap™ up. Simply put, that is how to trap a rat. The only thing left is to release the unharmed rat which should be done within 24 hours of capture. There is no need for contact with the rat, This rat catcher has a handy carrying handle and protective hand plate so the trap can safely be transported. Take the rat at least 2 miles from the house before releasing it.
Always wear gloves when handling the traps, this ensures you have limited contact with any germs the rats are carrying and also prevents the transfer of human odours onto the trap itself.
